Merry Christmas!

The last 3 weeks have been split between two projects.  One project will be finished the first class of 2011 (2011 already?!).  The other project was a Christmas ornament, which we put the finishing touches on this past week.

To make the ornament we used puzzle pieces.  We glued them into a circle, laying them like bricks, then painted them green.  The next week, we painted over them with a layer of Mod Podge to seal everything together and to help keep the acrylic from scratching off.  We waited for them to dry, and near the end of class, we glued on a ribbon for hanging.  Finally, this past week, we added the bow and bell on front, and the glitter glue berries.  They came out wonderful!  I would love to try this project again with different ornaments/decorations to make out of the puzzle pieces--reindeer, snowmen, etc.
